(VOVworld)- The Vietnam film week opened on Friday night in Lucerna movie theater in Prague, Czech Republic.

The festival is held for the first time in the Czech Republic by the Vietnam Cinema Department under Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnamese Embassy. On show are three Vietnamese films: Quyen, Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass, and Taxi, What’s your name?. Vietnamese Ambassador to Czech Republic Truong Manh Son said this is an opportunity to introduce foreign friends to Vietnamese land and people and its cinema development.
Ngo Phuong Lan, Head of Vietnam Cinema Department, told reporters: “The Vietnam film week in the Czech Republic is held after a long time in a country that has good traditional relations with Vietnam and has a large number of patriotic Vietnamese community. We hope that the film week will successful and pave the way for more Vietnamese films to be screened in the Czech Republic as Vietnamese cinematography has been developing well and receiving positive feedback from domestic and foreign audiences”.
During the Vietnam film week this weekend, organizers hold talks between the audiences and film makers in the Sapa Trade Center of the Vietnamese community in Prague.
