At a ceremony to mark this occasion, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said Vietnam has won praise for its safe, hi-quality seafood. He asked localities to develop shrimp production toward value chains and strictly monitor input materials and farming conditions in compliance with regulations set by foreign importers.

“Connectivity in each production chain must be enhanced to improve product quality, ensure origin traceability, and increase the proportion of value-added products. We need to control the quality of breeds, bio-products, farming, harvesting, and processing methods,” said Mr. Tien.
