These activities aim to make early detection of any potential health issues due to the harsh climate and high-pressure working conditions in South Sudan.
Officers stationed at the mission spoke highly of the dedication and professionalism of the Vietnamese medical team, said Marco Latorre, Commander of the Ecuadorian Navy contingent at the UN Mission in Unity, South Sudan.
“This CPR training is very important because we can improve our capability to prevent any emergency. We can also keep giving support to all friends or the general public. Thank you, Vietnam for organizing this activity,” said Latorre.
Major Phichayathida Ratanapirom of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, serving as a Civil-Military Coordination Officer at the UN Mission in Unity, South Sudan, said that such hands-on training sessions are highly practical, given the limited infrastructure and resources in the mission area.
“Now I am working at the civil sector at Unity sector. Today I have joined the training and I think it's very useful because for civil working, I often work with people. So if we have any emergencies for children, this training will help me a lot and teach me how to give them support. Thank you, Vietnam’s Level-2 Field Hospital for always having good activities for us.”
Through these activities, Vietnam’s Level-2 Field Hospital No.6 continues to affirm its pivotal role in providing medical care, while demonstrating responsibility and the proactive spirit of the Vietnamese peacekeeping forces for the international community at the UN Mission in South Sudan.
This series of initiatives helps protect the physical health of peacekeepers and serves as a clear testament to the humanitarian spirit, cooperation, and mutual support among nations in pursuit of the shared goal of global peace and security.
