(VOVworld) – Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien and the US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius cut the ribbon for the operating system of Vietnam’s emergency operations center (EOC).

Minister Tien said the Vietnamese government has always paid special attention to epidemic prevention and control and realized that the rapid sharing of information and pro-activeness in resource allocation together with the participation of domestic and international organizations, play a key role.

Madam Tien said that the establishment of the EOC office is one of Vietnam’s specific acts in implementing its commitment to joining a global medical security program.

So far, Vietnam has applied the EOC office model in response to preventing the spread of Ebola and the bird flu epidemic.
