At the talks in Hanoi on Wednesday after a welcoming ceremony, the two State leaders underlined the importance of the visit, which they said helps open up a new period of cooperation between the two countries. Both agreed to intensify all-level delegation exchanges, especially among high-ranking officials, while stepping up coordination at regional and international forums of the United Nations, Non-Aligned Movement, and Francophone International Organization.
Both sides expressed a strong determination to lift two-way trade to 1 billion USD in the coming time and pledged to create optimal conditions for businesses to run investment in the fields of their strengths such as telecommunication, information technology, seaport, shipbuilding, consumer production, agriculture, and farm produce processing. Vietnam vowed to facilitate the entry of Egyptian goods in Vietnam and welcomes the Egyptian President’s support for the import of Vietnamese products.
Both leaders also stressed international efforts in the fight against terrorism to ensure a safe environment for all citizens.

After the talks, President Quang and President Sisi signed the minutes of the Vietnam-Egypt Intergovernmental Committee’s fifth meeting and other cooperation deals in investment, culture, tourism, transportation, fisheries, and a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Radio the Voice of Vietnam and the Egyptian National Radio. President Quang said at a joint press conference afterwards: “On the firm foundation which has been constantly consolidated over the past 54 years, plus the huge potential and effort by both sides, I believe the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Egypt will flourish, living up the two people’s expectation and contributing peace, stability, cooperation, and development in both the region and the wider world.”
The Egyptian President noted that Egypt and Vietnam have maintained close relations in politics, economics and culture, adding that his nation desires to boost a win-win economic partnership with Vietnam: “During talks, we discussed measures to strengthen bilateral ties in all fields, particularly in economics. Vietnam’s achievements in industry and trade are considered a role model for other countries. Egypt wants to develop the win-win economic cooperation with Vietnam to increase two-way trade and resolve the trade unbalance issue.”
President Sisi invited President Quang to visit Egypt at a convenient time with a view to strengthening bilateral ties.
