(VOVworld) – Vietnam has donated 200,000 USD to victims of the most severe flood since 1971 in Mozambique . The humanitarian aid was transferred through Movitel, a Mozambican joint venture of the Viettel telecommunications group.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique said the donation will help 6,000 families in Zambezia district, the most affected area, where Vietnamese agricultural experts are working on cooperative projects. The aids include food and means of communication such as internet modems and phone SIM cards.

The National Institute of Disaster Management (INGC) in Mozambique reported that downpours and flood have interrupted the lives of 138,000 Mozambicans.
