(VOVworld) – Vietnam has so far reported no cases of A/H7N9 infection in poultry. The National Center for Veterinary Hygiene made the announcement at a conference in Hanoi today to mobilize resources for the prevention and control of the H7N9 flu virus. Shortly after the disease broke out in China, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development increased control of poultry trading in border areas. It has taken more than 500 samples from live poultry and discarded hens for testing, and the results for all sampled poultry have been negative for the deadly strain of A/H7N9 virus. To head off a possible outbreak, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development have called for international organizations’ assistance with early detection and prevention to avoid any spread of the disease in humans or poultry.
