(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam will continue to work closely with UNICEF to promote and protect children's rights, said Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Vietnamese Delegation to the UN.

Addressing a session of the UNICEF Executive Board held in New York from February 7-10, Giang briefed participants on outstanding results that Vietnam has achieved in the past one year since the executive board approved the Vietnam Country Programme in February 2022. He said emphasized that as the world is facing crises, peace is a prerequisite for the development and prosperity of people, including children.

The Ambassador said UNICEF needs to work with other agencies of the UN system to strive for the goal that future generations' children can live in peace and have the opportunity to develop.

UNICEF Executive Director, Henrietta Fore, applauded Vietnam's efforts and achievements in the care and protection of children's rights, affirming that UNICEF will continue to work closely with Vietnam in this area.
