Hoi told a conference in Hanoi on Friday that Vietnam has defined the investment in human and social policies as investment in development to achieve the goal of rapid and sustainable growth.
“Vietnam plans to issue a new resolution on social policy until 2030 with a vision to 2045 to manage and develop society in line with the goal of becoming a developing country with high middle income by 2030 and a high-income developed country by 2045. The new draft resolution will be submitted to the 13th Party Central Committee for approval at its 7th plenum,” said Hoi.
The conference reviewed 10 years of the resolution on social welfare policies in the 2012-2020 period set by the fifth plenary meeting of the 12th Party Central Committee. Released in June 2012, the resolution focuses on two fundamental groups of policies in the social policy system - preferential policies for national contributors and welfare policy.
After a decade, Vietnam's Human Development Index (HDI) improved in the United Nations' rankings from 128 in 2011 to 117th in 2020.
