Addressing a meeting to implement the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign, in Hanoi, on Tuesday, Minister Long said his ministry has been trying to seek and negotiate with partners to secure sufficient COVID-19 vaccines for domestic use, while speeding up the research and production of vaccines locally. Currently, the ministry is seeking more vaccines from global sources to reach the target of 150 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in 2021 to inoculate up to 75% of Vietnam’s population.

Minister Long noted that the organization of injections at injection sites will be strictly controlled by the online vaccination administration system, adding that the entire procedure has been reviewed with the view that "vaccination must be safe before being continued."
