Vietnam committed to achieving 2030 Sustainable Development Goals on schedule

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam is strongly committed to the timely finalization of the Sustainable Development Goals, said a Vietnamese diplomat on Thursday.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Sustainable Development Goals continues to be the guideline for recovery and green and sustainable development, Vietnamese Ambassador-designate to Thailand Pham Viet Hung told the 80th annual session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in Bangkok.

 In this effort, Vietnam has integrated the 2030 Agenda into national development strategies and carried out a series of policies on education and social welfare.  Progress has been made in improving access to quality education, ensuring universal healthcare coverage and coverage of the social security system, creating employment opportunities, industrialization, and infrastructure development, as well as building peace and justice and fine-tuning institutions,” he said.

The Vietnamese Ambassador, who also heads the Vietnamese delegation to ESCAP, emphasized the continued adoption of a people-centered approach, with the involvement of all relevant stakeholders.
