The event was co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, several localities in Vietnam, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, and the authorities of China's Yunnan province.
All agreed that Vietnam and China have gained significant achievements in poverty reduction that prove the preeminence of socialism, adding that improving the quality of people’s life should be a high priority in both countries.
Participants agreed that poverty reduction should be a key long-term task of every action program, especially during this pandemic.
The localities underscored the need to tap strengths and pool resources to generate more jobs and improve health care, education, and social welfare, particularly in remote ethnic minority regions.
