Vietnam, China forge solidarity through border defense friendship exchange

(VOVWORLD) - The 10th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange officially began on Wednesday. Vietnamese National Defense Minister Phan Van Giang chaired the welcoming ceremony for the Chinese delegation led by National Defense Minister Dong Jun at the Mong Cai International Border Gate (the demarcation line on bridge Bac Luan 1).

Residents and students waved flags and flowers, chanting “Vietnam-China friendship, Vietnam-China solidarity” to greet the Chinese delegation along the bridge Bac Luan 1.

Following the ceremony, both ministers visited Tran Phu High School and Tra Co Border Guard Station, reflecting the special appreciation of both countries’ defense leaders for the younger generation, the future inheritors of the enduring friendship and long-term cooperation between the two nations.

Vice Principal of Tran Phu High School, Mai Hoang Lam, said at the event: “The visit by the high-level delegations of the two countries is a great source of encouragement for teachers and pupils. We pledge to continuously innovate the quality of education and nurture pupils to become knowledgeable, responsible citizens who will actively contribute to preserving and developing Vietnam-China friendship.”
At Tra Co Border Guard Station, the two ministers were briefed on the coordination between the Tra Co and the Fangcheng border guard unit of China in 2025. Lieutenant Colonel Luc Chinh Duc, Head of Tra Co Border Guard Station, pledged closer coordination with the Chinese counterparts to strengthen border management and protection, and deepen friendship, solidarity, and cooperation, contributing to border socio-economic development and a shared border of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.
