Vietnamese Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang and Chinese Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Dong Jun attended the event.

During the two-day event, there will be welcome and farewell ceremonies for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense delegation at Mong Cai International Border Gate; a friendship tree-planting ceremony; the groundbreaking of a friendship medical station in Hai Son commune; visits to Tran Phu High School and Tra Co Border Guard Station; and bilateral talks.

Colonel Tran Van Loi, Head of the Asia Division under the Ministry of National Defense’s Department of Foreign Relations, said: “The exchange aims to concretize the shared understanding of senior leaders of the two Parties and countries in promoting more substantive defense cooperation. It also seeks to strengthen friendship, solidarity, and practical cooperation among border protection forces, local authorities, and people in border areas, contributing to building a border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.”

Over the past few days, the two sides organized various activities such as free medical check-ups and medicine distribution for local residents, as well as scholarships for disadvantaged students.
