(VOVworld) – Vietnam, whose relationship with Russia evolved into a strategic partnership in 2012, is Russia’s important partner, said Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrey G. Kovtun. At Tuesday’s celebration held by the Russian Embassy in Hanoi to mark Russia’s National Day on June 12th, Kovtun said the friendship, mutual trust, and assistance over the past decades is the foundation for Russia-Vietnam growing cooperation, which is valuable to all citizens in both countries. He added that Russia is an inseparable part of the Asia-Pacific then it is keen on strengthening ties with all regional countries.

Vietnam’s Justice Minister Ha Hung Cuong affirmed that Vietnam and Russia will consolidate their bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership for the benefits of both peoples and for regional and world peace, stability, cooperation, and development.
The same day, leaders of the Da Nang city’s People Committee and sectors visited and congratulated Russian Consul General Valentin M. Dikushin. The Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association, Da Nang University, and the Russian Consulate in the city organized a wide range of cultural exchange activities. Dikushin said:"It is our honor to receive Vietnamese people’s hospitality. I hope to see closer tourism cooperation between Russia and Vietnam’s central and central highland provinces. The Russian government offers 400 scholarships for Vietnamese students each year".
Da Nang city has recently expanded it cooperation with Russia’s localities, especially in tourism, thanks to a direct air route bringing Russian tourists to the central city.
