At a meeting with textile enterprises and retail companies in Hanoi, he said domestically-made masks that use anti-bacteria and water-proof cloth meet the Health Ministry standards.

“The Domestic Market Department should help localities create plans to guarantee an adequate supply of masks for local residents. Provincial chairpersons and directors of provincial Departments of Industry and Trade are responsible to the Government and the Prime Minister for supplying masks and setting up mask supply chains to meet local needs and report to the Government their plans for providing free masks to the elderly, children, and anyone already suffering from an underlying disease,” said Minister Tuan Anh.

The Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) said its member companies can produce about 40 million antibacterial, water-proof masks per month from domestic materials.
