Vietnam Business Forum 2023: PM promises favorable conditions for enterprises

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reiterated the Vietnamese Government’s strong commitment to creating all favorable conditions for business growth as he addressed the annual Vietnam Business Forum 2023 (VBS 2023) in Hanoi on Sunday.

The forum is an on-going policy dialogue channel between the Government of Vietnam and business community towards a favorable business environment since 1997. It is co-organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the World Bank (WB), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Vietnam Business Forum Alliance (VBF).

Prime Minister Chinh told the Forum that the Government will continue to finetune institutions, mechanisms and policies to create a favorable and equal business environment, and improve national competitiveness.

He stressed the need to remove difficulties, cut costs, increase transparency and equality in access to resources, strengthen the protection of legitimate rights and interests of enterprises, business owners, employees and related parties.

More attention will be paid to uniformly and effectively deliver policies to support enterprises in terms of capital, technology transfer, training and human resource development, among others. Vietnam will concertedly develop goods and services, financial-monetary, and stock markets, he said.  

At the forum, representatives of the World Bank, IFC, European business associations, the US, South Korea, the UK, and Japan applauded Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements despite COVID-19 restrictions, as well as its efforts to improve the business and investment environment. International organizations and business associations pledged to continue working with the Government of Vietnam in promoting green growth.

Afterwards, the Prime Minister attended a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the Vietnam Business Forum, an uninterrupted and close dialogue mechanism between the Government and the domestic and foreign business communities in order to improve business conditions to promote the development of the domestic private sector and facilitate the investment environment, contributing to Vietnam's sustainable economic growth.
