(VOVworld) - The Vietnamese Buddhist Association in Japan held a grand ceremony in Tokyo on Sunday welcoming the United Nations Day of Vesak 2014.
Addressing the ceremony, Vietnamese ambassador to Japan Doan Xuan Hung described Vesak 2014 as not just a festival for Buddhist followers but an occasion for overseas Vietnamese in Japan to strengthen their ties to the community. The ambassador expressed his wish that all followers and monks enjoy a happy, moral life and contribute to cross-cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between the people of Japan and Vietnam.
