Mr Hai praised Belgium’s official development assistance (ODA) to Vietnam, adding that he hoped for Belgium’s continued support in the future. Both sides exchanged ideas for further strengthening cooperation by leveraging the strengths of each side in transportation, seaport development, environment, green technology, space technology, satellites, education and training. They also agreed to increase high-level exchanges and promote cooperation between Vietnamese and Belgian ministries and regions, as well as at multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations.

After the talks, the two sides signed a number of agreements supporting Vietnamese business incubators and bidding contract for the VietNam Red Sat 1B satellite project.

During his visit, Deputy Prime Minister Lanotte met with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh, Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang, and held working sessions in HCMC, Hai Phong city, and Ninh Thuan province.
