Mr. Dung, head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to Geneva, said this session is symbolic as it coincides with the WMO’s 75th anniversary. High on the agenda of the session were the Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative, the Global Greenhouse Gas Watch (G3W), and the use of AI in meteorological forecasting.

As Vietnam is among the world’s most climate-vulnerable nations, Dung said, its experience makes it determined to deepen cooperation with the WMO and its partners. Vietnam fully supports the EW4All initiative, viewing it as a strategic mandate capable of significantly reducing human suffering and economic loss.

Vietnam is ready to roll out the EW4All roadmap in close coordination with the WMO, said Dung. Vietnam calls on all partners—governments, development agencies, and the private sector—to mobilize the resources and political will needed to ensure that everyone on Earth is protected by an early warning system.
