In August alone, the country welcomed 1.68 million foreign tourists, up 16.5% year-on-year, according to the National Statistics Office.
The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism said despite being the low season for international travel, July and August results show clear signs of recovery and growth in inbound tourism.
China and South Korea remained Vietnam’s biggest tourist sources, making up nearly half of all international arrivals.
China led with over 3.5 million visitors, followed by South Korea with 2.9 million. Other key markets were Taiwan (China), the US, Japan, Cambodia, India, Russia, Australia and Malaysia.
