Vietnam attracts 2.36 billion USD of FDI in January

(VOVWORLD) -As of January 20 Vietnam had attracted 2.36 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI), an increase of 40% over the same period in 2023, according to the Foreign Investment Agency of the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Foreign investors invested in 15 of 21 economic sectors. The real estate sector attracted 1.27 billion USD, nearly 54% of the total, followed by processing and manufacturing, which attracted 926 million USD.

Companies from 39 countries and territories invested in Vietnam in January. Singapore led with 1.4 billion USD.

In January, Vietnam's trade of goods totaled nearly 30 billion USD, up 5.4% from last year. Exports grew 4%.
