(VOVworld) – 30 Vietnamese companies are participating at the International Food Exhibition (SIAL) in Paris, France, which opened on Sunday.

Their items include rice, rice products, honey, cashew nuts, pepper, coconuts, and vegetables are exhibited on an area of 250 square meters. This is part of Vietnam’s plan to build a strategy on establishing national brands for food industry, particularly in the EU market.
Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Ngoc Son said: “This year there is a largest number of participating companies compared to previous years. They are 30 key exporters of goods which are Vietnam’s advantaged edge. We hope that this will open prospects for increasing exports to France from 4 billion Euros currently to 6 billion Euros. I feel happy and proud that Vietnamese products are improved to meet the needs of Europeans.”
The exhibition is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious events honouring food and beverages with 7,000 companies from 104 participating in. It attracts more than 155,000 visitors from 190 countries worldwide.
