At its meeting to review performance in 2021 and set out tasks for 2022 on Friday, the Committee said 99% of blood collected will be voluntary donation.

To achieve these targets, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Tran Quoc Hung suggested that the Society and Steering Committees at all levels actively advise the Party committees and administrations to direct the voluntary blood donation campaigns towards sustainable development.

“Efforts should be made to encourage voluntary blood donation. The Vietnam Red Cross Society has directed the provinces and cities to make the Spring Festival 2022 a success to ensure enough blood for emergency treatment of the sick during Lunar New Year holiday. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, prevention measures must be in place,” Mr. Hung said.
