Mr. Dien said Vietnam is carrying out a national program on efficient use of energy until 2030 to boost the energy industry and meet domestic demand. He said Vietnam will continue to create favorable conditions for investors in the energy sector, and renewable energy and efficient use of energy are Vietnam’s direction in developing the industry. He said:

"The Ministry of Industry and Trade has been building policies and solutions to boost the energy sector’s structural transformation towards maximizing Vietnam’s resources and increasing cooperation with partners. Bilateral and multilateral cooperation are important to developing Vietnam’s energy sector and economy."

Mr. Ward said Alok Sharma, President for the 26th session of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 26), will visit Vietnam next week to discuss the future of Vietnam’s energy industry and mechanisms to attract investment for Vietnam’s renewable energy.
