Vietnam sent eight teams of 38 students competing in the international and regional Olympiads this year. They clinched 12 golds, 15 silvers, 10 bronzes and 1 certificate of merit, far exceeding those of previous years.
The International Chemistry Olympiad team continued their impressive streak of achievements for five consecutive years, with all 20 students winning prizes and maintaining their lead among participating countries.
At the meeting in the Presidential Palace, Vice President Xuan said their successes affirm the regional and global position of the Vietnamese education.
“I hope that you will continue to have thoughts and solutions to conquer new heights in the future. You must set goals for yourself and what you will contribute to life, society, and our country, so that you will have motivation to strive, and methods to study and practice more effectively,” she said.
The Vice President, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, presented the second and third class Labor Order to Olympiad winners.
