(VOVworld) – On Tuesday, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan chaired a meeting with the Vietnam Children’s Patronage Fund Council to review its operations last year and examine this year’s tasks.

Last year, the Fund mobilized more than 4.5 million USD and supported nearly 87,000 disadvantaged children. The fund is mainly used to build schools, kindergartens and provide support for needy children. Ms. Doan urged the Fund to work out specific plans based on the needs of localities and to focus mainly on disabled and poor children. The Fund aims to raise around 3.5 million USD to support 47,000 disadvantaged children.
