The projects include upgrades to the Minh Chau–Quan Lan main road, the water supply system in Ngoc Vung commune, and a road linking Van Don 3 Bridge to the Doan Ket resettlement area.
On the same occasion, Van Don will break ground on 12 new projects across education, trade and services, transport, technical infrastructure, urban improvement, parks and flood prevention, with combined investment of more than 55 million USD.

Several of the projects involve large capital outlays and are expected to act as key drivers of local economic growth. They include a bridge across the Mang River linking Minh Chau, Quan Lan and Ban Sen; the main access road to the Cai Rong urban area; and construction of a new Cai Rong market.
The projects will help complete the technical infrastructure of the Van Don special economic zone, expand development space and promote services, tourism and logistics, aiming to build Van Don into a new-generation special economic zone.
