Trump told reporters in the White House that China is not ready to reach a trade deal and a several bilateral meetings were cancelled. Last month, President Trump imposed tariffs on nearly 200 billion USD worth of Chinese imports and then threatened more levies if China retaliated. China hit back with tariffs on about 60 billion USD worth of US imports.
The same day, Bloomberg published an announcement by Chinese Commerce Minister Zhong Shan, affirming China’s non-concession to the US.
