Previously, President Biden declared a federal emergency. He instructed the federal government to provide additional assistance to the state’s recovery, subsidies to set up temporary housings or repair their home for those affected, and preferential loans for business owners to offset the loss of their uninsured properties.

Wildfires had spread since last Tuesday in Maui island, leaving 1,400 Hawaiians out of home. State Governor Josh Green said death tolls rose to 101 on Tuesday, and the number may continue to climb in the next 2-3 days.
