Biden said on Tuesday that he hopes to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin during this time. He will also fly to Brussels to meet with EU and NATO leaders.
The White House said that during a telephone call in April, Biden proposed the idea of a meeting with Putin in a third country. He also raised the US’s concerns over Russia’s activities in Ukraine and discussed the extension of the New START arms control treaty with Russia. He warned Moscow against cyberattacks and inference into the US election.
