House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ordered all flags at the Capitol to be flown at half-staff on Friday in honor of the fallen officer William F. Evans, an 18-year veteran of the force. The Capitol Police said the other officer struck by the car, who has not yet been publicly identified, was in "stable and non-threatening condition."
The Capitol removed the outside security barrier last week, while the inside barrier has remained since the chaos early this year.
