Protesters put on masks, waved American flags, and hold signs reading “Racism is a virus” and “Stop Asian hate”. Democratic Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock of Georgia addressed protesters.
On Tuesday, eight people, including six women of Asian descent, were killed when a gunman opened fire at three separate spas.
These shootings were the latest in a series of hate incidents that have surged for the past year in the US against Asians and Asian Americans, who were blamed for the coronavirus first identified in Wuhan, China, in late 2019.
