In a joint statement following the 44th Military Committee Meeting (MCM), US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Mark Milley pledged the US's firm and unwavering commitment to South Korea.

Both sides discussed measures to strengthen their defense posture and plans to transfer the wartime operational control for South Korea. Milley insisted that the US stands ready to respond to any attack on the Korean peninsula.
