(VOVworld) – The Islamic State has the capability to stage a Paris-style attack in the US, Director of the US National Intelligence James Clapper announced on Wednesday. Clapper said any attempted attacks in the US would echo those assaults in Europe and, as in those cities, IS would "either infiltrate into the US or incite extremists who are already there. IS would not necessarily give directions for a specific target but general, strategic guidance, and then let the local cell figure out how to achieve the objectives.

IS has utilized its sources to recruit members, so not until these sources are totally broken will the fight against IS end, Clapper said, warning that these sources would enable IS to develop more affiliates, threatening the security of the US and its allies.
