The draft law is to extend a program that provides modest financial and job-training help to workers displaced by the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal. The move helps US President Barack Obama more easily complete the TPP. The Senate passed the TAA on Wednesday. The deal will be submitted to Obama to issue into law. TAA is attached to fast-track legislation, called the Trade Promotion Authority which has been approved previously. Obama said he will only sign it if the congress submitted both the TPA and TAA.

In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court saved the controversial health care law, called ObamaCare. The court backed Obama administration’s decision to enable low-income people to buy health insurance. However, legislators from the Republican Party announced that they would continue to seek ways to reject Obamacare, which they called wasteful.
