The DOC is expected to issue its final conclusion on October 17, 2022 instead of April 20, 2022 as previously announced. This is the DOC’s third extension of this deadline.

The case was initiated by the DOC on June 17, 2020 at the request of the US Customs Service to determine whether hardwood plywood imported from Vietnam into the United States is within the scope of products subject to tariffs.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant agencies have answered the questions raised by the DOC to verify and clarify the case and worked hard to make the US side understand more about Vietnam’s wood sector.

The Ministry said it will continue to closely monitor the case and coordinate with relevant parties to work with US agencies to ensure that the case is investigated objectively and fairly.
