It was deployed in South Korea, a move condemned by China, North Korea, and Russia.
The test was carried out in the Republic of the Marshall Islands on Friday. MDA spokesperson Mark Wright said preliminary indications are that planned flight test objectives were achieved and the target was successfully intercepted by the THAAD weapon system. It was the 16th successful test of 16 THAAD system interceptions.
