(VOVworld) – Vietnamese Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty suggested the two armies of Vietnam and the US increase delegation exchanges at all levels.

Mr Ty made the remark at a reception Monday in Hanoi for the visiting General Vincent Brooks, the Commanding General of the US Army Pacific. Mr Ty also called for the US to share information and marine search-and-rescue experience, provide English language training for Vietnamese officers, and address lingering impacts of the war.
General Brooks briefed Mr Ty on the outcomes of his previous meeting with Deputy Chief of the Vietnamese People’s Army General Staff Vo Van Tuan, where they reviewed bilateral defence co-operation under a 2011 Memorandum of Understanding.
