(VOV)-More than 10 violent incidents occurred in the first 10 days of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan in southern Thailand, worsening the situation in a volatile region. 15 people have been killed and 20 wounded since Ramadan began. It has forced the Thai police to reconsider their strategy for ensuring security and social stability in the region. Narathiwat, Pattani, and Yala are three provinces in southern Thailand where the majority of people are Muslims, and where the Thai government has recently conducted several projects of infrastructure development. And where, unfortunately, extremists continue efforts to sabotage the government through acts of bloody violence.
