UN Security Council calls on North Korea to give up weapons programs

(VOVWORLD) - The UN Security Council on Tuesday held a meeting to discuss North Korea’s 11th missile test this year.

Germany, the UK, France, Belgium, and Poland issued a joint statement calling on North Korea “to take concrete steps” toward giving up it nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner. The countries called for continued sanctions on North Korea and asked Pyongyang to participate in friendly negotiations with the US.
