EU member states have allowed Ukrainian refugees to exchange 10,000 hryvnias (about 310 euros) into the host country's currency for free.
The European Council said the agreement has been submitted to member countries for approval. The measure is expected to take effect on April 19 to increase support for refugees.
The European Commission proposed 40 euros per week for each Ukrainian evacuated to the EU for a period of up to 13 weeks. Since the Russian-Ukrainian conflict broke out on February 24, more than 4 million Ukrainians have traveled to EU countries, mostly women and children. They will benefit from the EU’s temporarily protection policy in about 3 years, during which they can work and access housing, education and healthcare services.
Meanwhile, the Humanitarian Aid Center named after King Salman of Saudi Arabia said that the King has decided to provide humanitarian and medical aid worth 10 million USD to Ukrainian refugees.
