Gunmen attacked a logistical convoy travelling between the towns of Tessalit and Gao, the largest town in northern Mali on Saturday.
The UN troops ultimately repulsed the attack. The mission did not indicate the nationalities of the two soldiers.
The head of the peacekeeping mission, Mahamat Saleh Annadif, condemned the attack and said efforts are being made to identify and apprehend those responsible.
