(VOVworld) - The UN Security Council condemned in the strongest terms on Sunday the terrorist attack against a camp of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) in Kidal, northern Mali. It called on the Government of Mali to swiftly investigate the attack. Council members stressed that those responsible should be punished and that the attack targeting peacekeepers may constitute a war crime under international law. The Security Council urged all parties to refrain from any actions that could hamper peace efforts and reiterated its readiness to impose sanctions against any one conspiring to wage war in Mali.
