Salame condemned attacks on civilian areas and called them war crimes. He called on all parties to respect international humanitarian laws and human rights and said every measure must be taken to protect civilians and infrastructure.

Germany asked the UN Security Council to hold a meeting on Libya after the failure to achieve a ceasefire in Tripoli. The Council is scheduled to meet on Thursday to discuss its next moves.
