Sajjad Malik, the UN refugee agency's chief in Damascus, said the UN organizes activities to raise awareness and emphasize the message that refugees are normal people who have been forced to flee and just want essential living conditions like other ordinary people. Syria is facing the worst humanitarian crisis in the world since World War II. 5.6 million have fled to other areas within Syria and 4.8 million have sought asylum in other countries.
