Addressing a meeting in Geneva, Martin Griffiths, Director of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), said 21.8 million Ukrainians are still in need of humanitarian assistance.
The amount expected to be raised by OCHA will allow humanitarian aid workers to reach 15.3 million people most in need in Ukraine this year. About 1.7 billion USD of that will be used to help more than 4 million Ukrainian refugees displaced to 10 Eastern European countries.
According to the UN, since the conflict broke out in Ukraine last February, nearly 6 million Ukrainians have evacuated domestically and more than 4.8 million others are living abroad.
