The government announced that Leo Docherty will be Britain’s new Armed Forces Minister and Luke Hall will serve as the Education Minister.

Education Minister Robert Halfon and Armed Forces Minister James Heappey both also announced that they will not be running for parliament in the general election later this year.

The resignation of the two Ministers is the latest withdrawal by politicians from the ruling Conservative Party at a time when the Party is at risk of a major defeat in the upcoming election.

Of the 98 members of Parliament who have announced they will not participate in the next election, most are members of the Conservative Party.
