(VOVworld) - All commercial flights must have two crew members in the cockpit at all times. The new regulation will be enforced by a number of airlines world-wide starting March 26th.

Two-person cockpit rule |
The new rule was adopted after French officials concluded Thursday that the co-pilot of the crashed Germanwings airliner deliberately locked the captain out of the cockpit. In Canada, Transport Minister Lisa Raitt issued a new regulation requiring two members on the flight deck at all times. In Europe, several airlines announced they’d be adopting the policy, including EasyJet of the UK, Finnair of Finland, Iberia of Spain, and Norwegian Air Shuttle. Germany's aviation association BDL announced plans to introduce a two-person cockpit rule. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has asked its members to check their pilots’ health regularly.
