Turkish Foreign Minister: 700 Turks have joined Islamic State

(VOVworld) - Up to 700 Turkish nationals have joined the Islamic State (IS), creating a risk of terrorist attacks inside Turkey if they return home.
(VOVworld) - Up to 700 Turkish nationals have joined the Islamic State (IS), creating a risk of terrorist attacks inside Turkey if they return home. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Thursday that Turkey has barred entry to 7,250 foreigners who plan to join IS and will deport 1,160 would-be jihadists.

Mr. Cavusoglu added that Turkey is taking "extreme measures" to ensure security along its 911-kilometer border with Syria. He considered Turkey an open target of IS and highlighted the need for tighter security inside Turkey.
